Our Mission
Jay Silverman Production’s mission is to use the power of storytelling to inspire and entertain with a message that is uplifting for society. As an independently owned and operated entertainment production company that develops and produces independent films and television shows, we believe we have an important responsibility to use storytelling to make the world a better place.
While promoting Girl on the Edge, we partnered with the non-profit Sky’s the Limit Fund, which helps fund wilderness therapy for troubled youth. For an entire year we traveled the country screening the film at festivals, schools and private venues with our final screening sponsored by Facebook. Our goal was to raise awareness and funds for important issues the film touches on such as mental illness, PTSD, rape, addiction, equine therapy as well as wilderness and residential treatment. Each screening brought an outpouring of emotion, both from young people who could relate to the story, and parents whom were inspired to get help for their troubled teen. Director Jay Silverman and his daughter spoke to US Congress about the life saving programs that many residential treatment centers provide. He hopes that by sharing his personal family’s story of healing, it could help change someone else’s life.
